N.C. Cooperative Extension-McDowell County Center’s Keep McDowell Beautiful program will be partnering with Camp Grier, Old Fort Ride House, Kitsbow, and Hillman Brewing to remove trash in Old Fort. Volunteers will meet at the Old Fort Ride House at 9 a.m., and split up into groups to clean up different areas around Old Fort. Work will finish around noon. Keep McDowell Beautiful will provide trash grabbers, vests, and other gear to help keep everyone safe while they clean.

Saturday, March 18, 2023, from  9 a.m. to noon

You should bring: Water/hydration, snacks, work gloves, sun protection to fit your needs (hats, sunscreen, etc).

You should wear: Comfortable shoes & high visibility clothing. We will be picking up trash along a road on uneven terrain.
