To help ease the pain, the Master Gardener℠ Volunteer Association of McDowell County offers a scholarship to McDowell County residents or students who have attended McDowell County schools. You must also have been accepted into an accredited school program.

Scholarships will be awarded based upon the completed application and an interview (if necessary). Priority will be given to applicants majoring in the field of agricultural sciences.

One scholarship in the amount of $1,000, or if two applicants qualify, there will be two scholarships in the amount of $750. Whether one or two scholarships are awarded will be at the discretion of the committee.

You must complete the sections of this application and forward it to a person to complete the Applicant Appraisal form. You may select a teacher, and employer, or any other person who has the ability to evaluate you according to the criteria.

You are also responsible for collecting and submitting all supporting documents listed on the Application Checklist on the last page of the application. This application becomes valid when it and all supporting documents have been received.

Applications must be submitted and received no later than Sunday, May 15, 2022.
