Let's Focus on Dairy This June

(Updated: May 27, 2021, 6:25 a.m.)

June is National Dairy Month, and it's right in time for all the ice cream being served in the hot summer sun. Dairy is a great source of calcium, which promotes and improves bone health in children and adults. It also offers vitamin D, B-12, and protein. Whether you drink whole milk, 2% milk, or skim milk; the calcium remains the same. And according to myplate.gov, lactose-free people can also get calcium from nondairy foods such as canned fish, tofu, and some leafy greens like collard and turnip greens, spinach, kale, and bok choy.

Here is a great way to celebrate National Dairy Month by making this easy and healthy Yogurt Parfait.
