Welcome 2024! If you are one of the crowd that always sets New Year goals, and breaks them within the first few weeks of the new year, this is for you! Follow the SMART rules to making and achieving your goals!
S - Specific - Goals need to be specific, focus your goal on one change to make
M - Measurable - Decide and choose how you will track your progress
A - Achievable - Do NOT set yourself up for failure, but do push yourself
R - Realistic - Set goals that fit into your lifestyle
T - Time-based - Give yourself a deadline to motivate you to accomplish your goal.
Start small. Make little changes at first. Once you master those, add more. Have an accountability partner. Find someone who will encourage you and help you obtain your goals. Look for nutrition classes in your area. See if there is an Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP for short) in your local Cooperative Extension Office. EFNEP serves families with children ages 0-18 with nutrition education, physical activity ideas, tasting new, healthy recipes and much more! Here's hoping you meet all your goals in the new year!
For more information on McDowell County EFNEP program, contact our office at 828-652-8104. We will be glad to point you to some local classes!
Happy New Year!
