What is your vision for McDowell County’s future?

McDowell County is seeking community input in its process of creating a new Land Use Plan — a document that acts as a road map to guide the county’s growth and development for years to come.

The survey is designed to gather residents’ opinions on land use, community character, greenspace, growth management, local economy, recreation, and more. Feedback from the survey will help shape the Land Use Plan and the policies that will likely stem from it.

All members of the community are invited to complete the survey, which is available online at https://arcg.is/5qm9S and in person at the Marion and Old Fort Libraries and the Marion and Old Fort Senior Center locations. The survey will remain online, and can be returned to the County Administration Annex at 100 Spaulding Road in Marion, through January 14, 2022.

Please if preserving greenspace and agriculture and other land use planning initiatives are important to you, make your voice heard and spread the word to your local friends and family!
