Local residents, community partners, and service providers are invited to participate in an upcoming Digital Opportunities Stakeholder Meeting on Thursday, May 15, at 5:30 p.m, Community Building, Marion. The session will be held as a listening forum to gather input on ways to strengthen digital inclusion efforts in our community. Dinner will be provided for all participants.

The goal of the meeting is to hear directly from stakeholders about barriers, opportunities, and priorities across five key areas of digital inclusion:
  1. Broadband Internet Access – Exploring solutions to ensure that reliable, high-speed internet is accessible and affordable for all households.
  2. Internet-Enabled Devices – Identifying needs and strategies to expand access to computers, tablets, smartphones, and other connected devices.
  3. Digital Skills and Literacy Training – Gathering ideas for expanding education and training opportunities that help residents build confidence and competence in using digital tools.
  4. Supportive Applications and Online Content – Discussing how to promote useful, relevant online resources and applications that meet the needs of diverse users.
  5. Technical Support/Navigator – Addressing the importance of accessible and reliable assistance to help people troubleshoot and maintain their digital devices and services.

Feedback from this session will inform future strategies and initiatives to help close the digital divide and ensure that all residents can fully participate in today’s digital world.

Community voices are essential to shaping inclusive solutions. Whether you are a resident, educator, service provider, business owner, or simply someone interested in improving local digital access, your input is welcome and valued.
