Who loves sourwood honey? On September 8, 7 pm, at Keeper's Cut Meadery, 175 West Henderson Street, the public is invited to attend and sample sourwood honey from across the county. You will then judge and vote for the best tasting Sourwood honey.
The McDowell Honey Bees is hosting this annual black jar tasting event. Honey entries will be this year's June/July honey produced by McDowell Beekeeping Association members with bees in McDowell or adjacent counties.
McDowell County has a long and proud history of sourwood honey production. It is considered by many to be the best tasting honey in the world, and it comes from our native sourwood trees which only grow in the southern Appalachians.
Come out to be part of this annual event. Always a fun time!
