Are you a 4-H’er who will be entering college in the fall 2024 semester? If so – you are eligible to apply for 4-H Scholarships. Scholarships are for any graduating High School Senior in 2024. There are lots of 4-H Scholarships to apply for. A complete list of scholarships, including detailed information on each is included in the 4-H Scholarship Guidelines which can be found at the link below. Complete applications with ALL supplemental materials must be submitted to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, McDowell County Center no later than Monday, January 22, 2024. We will make sure all applications are complete, make the necessary copies to be shipped, and electronically submit the applications for you. Recipients awarded NC 4-H Academic Scholarships will have an outstanding record of 4-H participation and achievement.

Additionally, recipients will possess an excellent high school record of academic achievement measured chiefly by their performance on solid secondary school courses including English, mathematics, physical sciences, and social sciences. Applicants will be judged on the following basis: 4-H record/resume, GPA, reference letters, and application packet completion. The following constitutes a completed NC 4-H Scholarship Application: NC 4-H Scholarship Application Form Official High School Transcript Scholastic aptitude test scores (SAT or ACT) optional for 2024 Letters of recommendation (1 academic and 1 4-H achievement) Applicant’s current resume Essay (required for NC 4-H Horse Program scholarships) Financial need statement (optional, confidential)

Please Note: All NC 4-H Scholarships are paid directly to a college or university and will not be made payable to a 4-H’er nor his/her parents. Recipients must be registered as full-time students and be enrolled and approved in 4-H Online for the 2023 and 2024 4-H program years.
