McDowell 4-H Young Guns Win Big

On Saturday March 16th the McDowell Young Guns Shooting Sports Team competed in the NC Wildlife Hunter Education Tournament at Catawba Valley Wildlife Club in Vale, North Carolina.

Participants shot shotgun, rifle and archery and took a hunter skills test competing with youth from all around the area.

McDowell 4-H finished 1st place in shotgun, 2nd place in rifle, 3rd place in archery and Hunter Jimeson won a shootoff to win 1st place overall in shotgun.

These youth will now compete in the state Wildlife Tournament on April 27th in Ellerbe, North Carolina.

Competing were: Hayden Edwards, Gracie Davis, Liam Thomas, Bryson McDaniel, Garrison Dietrich, Brady Keller, James Davis, Kayden Calvert, Caleb Calvert, Hunter Jimeson, Jaxson Jimeson, Eli Piveronas, Jacob Owenby, and Caitlyn Waldroup.
