The Junior Master Gardener (JMG) program is a youth gardening program of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension. JMG engages children in hands-on group and individual learning experiences that provide a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the environment, cultivate leadership, personal responsibility, community involvement, and critical thinking skills.

The Master Gardeners of McDowell County will be launching a JMG Program this Fall/Winter. The volunteer leaders of the Junior Master Gardener program will be set up at the Historic Marion Tailgate Market, Tuesday, October 25 from 3 to 6 pm to answer any questions.
Things You Can Do in Junior Master Gardeners- Discover the wonderful world of horticulture and insects.
- Perform community service projects.
- Visit local garden centers, farms, and nature centers.
- Make friends and have fun!
