Artificial Intelligence, AI, is all the talk these days.  Have you heard about Artificial Intelligence and wondered what it actually is? Or maybe you're curious but unsure where to start. You're not alone, and you’re not too late to learn! This August, we’re opening the door to the fascinating world of AI with a special series of digital skills workshops created just for older adults in our community.

With trusted materials from Senior Planet, these workshops are designed to be friendly and fun—whether you're new to technology or already exploring digital life.

August Workshop Schedule

AI All Around, Wednesday, August 13, 1pm, McDowell County Library

If it seems like AI is showing up everywhere, it's not just you! We'll explore many of the digital platforms and websites where generative AI is now available.

AI & Disinformation, Wednesday, August 20, 1pm, Extension Conference Room.

Today's AI powered tools and social media have made it easier and faster to create and spread disinformation. In this lecture, we’ll explore how AI is used to create convincing deepfakes and clone voices. We’ll also review best practices for evaluating information and explore tech tools that can help identify content created with AI.

AI Image Generators, Wednesday, August 27, 1pm, Extension Conference Room.

Do you envision something in your mind’s eye but struggle to bring it to life? This lecture will explain how artificial intelligence can turn your words into stunning realistic and imaginative images in seconds. It’s creative, fun, and can even bring your imagination to life.

Come connect with others, learn something new, and see how AI might just become your newest tool for creativity, safety, or just everyday ease.
