As fuels are building up, and droughts are getting more severe, wildfire managers, community leaders, and residents are concerned that significant wildfire risks will grow more prevalent for the Appalachian Mountains and the people who live there.  With community involvement and participation, we can create a safer environment against wildfire before it threatens our community!

The McDowell County Community Wildfire Network is a group of local agencies, organizations, and residents striving to build wildfire resilience in McDowell County.  This network offers FREE services to McDowell residents including wildfire preparedness information, mitigation resources, and community support.
