The McDowell Youth Foundation is excited to announce the winners of our annual 4th Grade Agriculture Awareness Field Day Essay Contest winners. In October, 4th graders from each elementary school in McDowell spent a day at the McDowell Agricultural Center learning hands on about beekeeping, horses, dairy cows, livestock, aquaculture, forestry, composting, Ag Careers, and horticulture. Each student was then challenged to write an essay about the session they enjoyed the most. Those essays were then judged at the school level and then the county level. Winners received a certificate and a $25 check. Congratulations to all!
