The McDowell 4-H Young Guns shooting sports team competed at the District 8 NC Wildlife Hunter Education Tournament held March 21st at the Catawba Valley Wildlife Club in Vale North Carolina. McDowell had 18 youth compete. Competing for the senior team was Daniel McManus, Hayden Edwards, Garrison Dietrich, Cutter Greene, Gracie Davis, Hunter Jimeson and McKenzie Scanlon-Ray. Competing for the juniors was Gannon Hicks, Maverick Greene, Ryder Greene, Jacob Owenby, Kinsley Owenby, Alexia Piveronas, Elijah Piveronas, Curtis Piveronas, David Scalf, Kian Hollifield and Caitlyn Waldroup.

Our Junior Team placed 3rd overall in Rifle and Shotgun.
