Senior Planet licensing photo lady teaching a tech classHandling money has changed a lot in recent years. From online banking to digital wallets, from apps that track your spending to peer-to-peer services like Venmo or PayPal—these tools are everywhere. But if you’ve ever thought, “That’s too complicated for me,” this is your chance to see how simple (and even fun!) it can be.

We’re hosting a series of workshops designed especially for seniors to take the mystery out of money apps. You’ll learn how to:

  • Safely check your bank balance from your phone.

  • Use apps to keep track of your spending and savings goals.

  • Send money to a grandchild or friend with just a tap.

  • Explore digital wallets that make paying at stores quick and secure.

All workshops are hosted in the conference room of the McDowell County Library, 90 West Court Street, Marion. All workshops are free and open to the public.

Banking & Finance Apps at a Glance, Wednesday, October 8, 1 p.m.

Intro to Digital Wallets, Wednesday, October 15, 1 p.m.

P2P Payment Services, Wednesday, October 22, 1 p.m.

Why does this matter? Because the world is moving digital—whether we like it or not. Learning these skills helps you stay independent, avoid scams, and feel confident using the same tools your kids and grandkids do every day.

And don’t worry—you don’t need to be a tech wizard! These workshops are hands-on, relaxed, and even a little fun. We’ll practice together, laugh at our mistakes, and celebrate those “aha!” moments when things finally click.

So, come join us! Bring your smartphone, your curiosity, and even a friend. Money management has never been easier—or more empowering.
