4-H Young Guns Win Big in District Competition

On Saturday March 19 McDowell 4-H Shooting Sports program (The Young Guns) competed at the annual North Carolina Wildlife Hunter Education tournament at Catawba Valley Wildlife Club in Vale, North Carolina.  McDowell had a junior (6th -8th grade) team and senior (9th-12th grade) team. Competing for McDowell Juniors were Gracie Davis,Ethan Laws, Garrison Dietrich, Zack Ramsey and Hayden Edwards.  Competing on the senior team was Gunner Dietrich, Kaylen Best, Ben Mast, Luke Lawing, Daniel McManus and Isaac Gordon.  Teams competed in Hunter Skills, Rifle, Archery and Shotgun.

Our Juniors finished 3rd place overall

Our Seniors finished 5th place overall.
