Have you ever thought about rotational grazing? If not, here is something to consider; it can help you to increase the productivity of your pasture and its longevity of it as well.

How, do you ask? Rotational grazing is beneficial in increasing the productivity of the grass by allowing it more time to grow back than traditional grazing. It is easier to do than it sounds. The pasture may be broken down into smaller paddocks by fencing or temporary wire, whichever works best for your operation. When using rotational grazing, you do not want the livestock to graze it too close; this causes the grass to take longer to grow back and could decrease the overall plant yield.

One of the drawbacks is that it can be time-consuming in terms of; putting the temporary fence up and moving the cattle from one area to another. Overall though, it does save you money. It preserves the grass and makes it productive longer than traditionally grazed.
