N.C. Cooperative Extension-McDowell County Center is launching a new program to help older adults in McDowell learn new skills, save money, get in shape, and make new friends. In partnership with Senior Planet, a national nonprofit which harnesses technology to change the way older Americans age, N.C. Cooperative Extension-McDowell County Center will be offering classes and workshops about technology, health and wellness, and socialization.
Older adults across the country are utilizing technology more than ever
before. Through partnering with Senior Planet’s licensing program, N.C. Cooperative Extension-McDowell County Center will begin to offer Senior Planet’s proprietary curriculum this Fall. To learn more or register for upcoming classes, call 828-652-8104. You may also visit our website’s event’s page. Most of the Fall classes will be hosted at the McDowell County Library, 90 W. Court St, Marion. You may also register at this site. Classes are open to all people ages 50 and older.
Senior Planet from AARP is a community of people 60 and older who are
learning to thrive in the digital world. Senior Planet programs are offered free of charge online and in-person at six Senior Planet locations across the country to help older adults build technology skills to allow them to improve their health, make new friendships, save money, and advocate in their communities.
