Good Earth Gardening: A Garden Symposium Part III

The Master Gardeners of McDowell County have been working hard organizing Good Earth Gardening: A Garden Symposium. Good Earth Gardening will be Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the McDowell Senior Center, 100 Spaulding Road, Marion.

Jay Kranyik, Chairman of Horticulture and Garden Manager of the Botanical Garden at Asheville, is a gifted storyteller and he will talk about the diversity of native plants in our area and which ones to consider for your landscape needs. He is co-author of the first exhaustive flora of Dupont State Forest, NC and has botanized widely in the region for thirty-five years. He is a proud member of the Cloud Appreciation Society and is a badge-carrying Blue Ridge Parkway "Junior Ranger."
