Have you made a New Year's resolution yet?  I highly suggest you celebrate NC Year of the Trail.  The North Carolina General Assembly dedicated 2023 as NC Year of the Trail to celebrate and draw attention to North Carolina's vast network of trails, greenways, and blueways.  These trails showcase our state's diverse landscape and establishes NC as "The Great Trails State."

Fortunately, McDowell County has focused on trail development throughout the years, and McDowell also has several great historical trail systems.  You won't have far to go to celebrate.  To celebrate, the McDowell Trails Association has several events throughout 2023. Check out the NC First Day Outdoors events and other planned events.  Make plans to join.
