Fresh local tomatoes are available in North Carolina from July to October. There are many different varieties of tomatoes from small ones, to larger ones; sweet to savory. Tomatoes are a great source of vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium, folate and has many other health benefits, including reduced risk of heart disease.
