Foothills Livestock Judging Contest

North Carolina Cooperative Extension, McDowell County Center hosted the Foothills Livestock Judging Contest at River Taw Farms in Cherryville, NC. The contest had 40 youth registered from 6 counties. Molly Anderson, Emily Davis, Haylee Laws, Ethan Laws, Logan Crisp, and Colton Cox, members of the McDowell 4-H Livestock Judging Team, competed as well.

In the junior division, Logan Crisp placed 4th in swine. In the senior division, Colton Cox placed 1st in cattle, 1st in swine, 2nd in sheep/goat, 1st in oral reason and was the high overall individual. Molly Anderson placed 4th in sheep/goats, 3rd in swine, 2nd in cattle, 3rd in oral reasons, and was 2nd overall. Haylee Laws placed 4th in swine, 3rd in sheep/goat and was 5th overall.
