McDowell County Has a New 4-H Club!

— Written By Jane McDaniel

A new 4-H club has formed that will focus on outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and geocaching. The club is starting from the ground up, so we don’t even have a name yet. Club meetings will be held the first Saturday of each month.  Enrollment in this club is limited.  If you would like to join please contact Molly Sandfoss at 652-8104 or 442-3007.

The 1st  meeting will be Saturday, November 2 from 10 am until approximately 1:30 pm at the Joseph McDowell Greenway in Marion.  4-Her’s will go fishing.  Please pack a bag lunch, wear closed toed shoes, and bring a fishing pole (closed faced reels work best for kids).  Please note: the area we will be fishing is delayed harvest, which means you can only use artificial single hook lures.

During lunch, we will hold our 1st  business meeting. A club name will be decided as well as officers.  Please bring your completed enrollment forms to the meeting.
